CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Dan Vanden Heuvel, one of a few racers in the off-road series
that has been around for 27 years. From the 30 mile race course through
the woods and hills in Crandon to the short course track, now world
famous in off-road racing. He's twice won SODA's Class 13 Championship
and finished second three other times. In the past 5 years, he has
finished in the top four in CORR's Pro 2 championship points, and in
1999 scored two wins and finished as runner-up in the season
championship. In 2001, he scored 12 top-five finishes in 16 races, with
a season best 2nd place at Antigo,WI, and a pair of second place
finishes at the season-ending race at Topeka, KS. Dan finished the 2001
season in fourth place among the 20 drivers in CORR's Pro 2 Class. 2003
could have been the year for the Championship with a 1st and 2nd in the
opening rounds, but a bad roll-over in Bark River, MI had the team on
the downside. Not knowing if Dan could compete in the rest of the
season, they still re-built the truck while Dan was healing. A scheduled
month break was also a major help in getting Dan into the truck. He came
back to lead the most laps in the next 2 rounds, but missed the finish
line. So he and the team worked harder. They pulled an awesome feat by
winning back to back rounds at the famous Crandon Raceway. Dan collected
his 5th Crandon Championship ring ! ! With 7 top 4 finishes and a 2nd in
the finale round, Dan got back to 4th place in the series. 2004 brought
a similar start to 2003 with a 1st and 2nd in Antigo. Dan added 7 top 3
finishes to his season total including a wild win in Crandon. A new
truck took Dan to the front for 2005. He took the Topeka event by storm
with a 1st and 2nd. He was 3rd overall and the 2nd Pro 2 for the
BorgWarner Shootout in Crandon. Then he went to San Diego to take back
to back wins and secured 2nd place.....only 16 points away from the Pro
2 Championship. 2006 is a new year, with a new race team member, his
oldest son, Dan Jr. He be racing the Pro-Lite class and trying to follow
Dads footsteps as a Champion.

Place Finishes
Rounds 1 and 2 of the CORR series were held
at Trollhaugan Ski Area in Dresser, Wisconsin May 24-26, 2003. Dan Vanden
Heuval in the Kumho Tire/AMSOIL truck went first and second in the first
two rounds.
